Sun damage and aging combine on the upper lid skin to make it lax. This loss of elasticity results in skin that rests on the upper eye lashes, blocking what you see. An often-associated condition is lengthening of the fascia connecting the elevator muscle to the rim of the upper lid. When this happens your eyelids appear droopy, impairing your field of vision. This results in you having a tired and hooded look. Inability to see above the horizon because your field of vision is obstructed makes it hard to see the world, the ball when you hit it down the fairway, etc. These problems are evaluated in the consultation process and are often covered by your insurance to fix. Lower eyelid laxity occurs with the same frequency and affects the appearance. These procedures are often combined in the same minor surgery to haromonize your overall appearance. Repairing the lid laxity will have a long-lasting, refreshing effect on function and appearance.
PS Lumiere crème available in my office helps with tired appearing eyes and dark circles.
