Complex Fractions

Friday, August 14th, 2009

New fractional laser treatments have been approved by the FDA for skin resurfacing of pigmented lesions, age spots, acne scarring and wrinkles.  The office procedure takes 45 minutes using a topical local anesthesia.  The Profractional laser concept is like lawn aeration.  The Profractional laser scans the skin and makes thousands of microscopic coagulation sites that are completely surrounded by viable tissue for rapid healing.  Resurfacing from this unique healing process takes years off your appearance!  Aged facial and neck skin generates more collagen and therefore tightens up, making you look more youthful. A mild sunburn sensation is felt for approximately an hour after treatment.  The skin has a pinkish tone for 1 to 3 days. Sunblock during the first 3 days is absolutely necessary.  Clinical studies suggest that four to six treatments spaced about one week apart produce gradual remodeling of dermal matrix components, firming collagen and elastin.

PS. After a series of Profractional treatment sessions, the remodeling of the face will occur even if the sessions are up to a month apart. Sessions can be arranged to accommodate your schedule.
