DiamondTome™ Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical exfoliating process, used to remove dead surface skin cells and initiate cellular turnover at the dermis and epidermis levels. Microdermabrasion is effective in the treatment of aging and sun damaged skin, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, scars and age spots, and overall skin rejuvenation. The treatment improves skin elasticity, texture, color, and overall appearance. Combining this procedure with other services such as dermal fillers or Botox® can achieve enhanced results.
This form of skin resurfacing is non-invasive, pain-free, and requires no downtime. Your face will be slightly red following your treatment. A good moisturizer and full spectrum sunscreen should be applied immediately after your treatment.

Glycolic peels are an affordable way to leave your skin looking smoother, healthier, and more youthful. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that acts as an exfoliant. Its unique property is that it also stimulates collagen synthesis in the skin. Glycolic acid also opens clogged pores and improves acne and hyperpigmentation.
Peels are performed in the relaxing atmosphere of our skin care room. The skin is cleansed and then buffered glycolic acid is applied, usually starting at 20% concentration. Depending upon the skin’s response, the next peel is a higher concentration until a 70% peel is achieved. Most patients have a series of six peels 7-10 days apart and then do a maintenance lunch peel once a month.
Following treatment, you can expect to experience a few hours of redness, which can be easily covered with make-up. You may also experience some dryness for two to three days after the peel. You may resume your skin care regimen immediately after the peel. It is suggested that you avoid sun exposure for the rest of the day, but most people can go out to a social engagement within a few hours of the micro-peel.
TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) chemical peels are significantly stronger than glycolic peels, and thus have a more potent effect on your face, neck, mantle, and hands. This peel is a great treatment that can make your skin look years younger by exfoliating superficial wrinkles, remodeling the treated skin, dramatically improving pore size, correcting pigmentation issues, and reducing blackheads.
-
TCA chemical peels are performed in the office with a topical local anesthetic. The treatment will initially leave you with skin that appears to be sunburned for about five to ten days. The treatment does not actually burn your skin, but aggressively exfoliates and resurfaces the treated areas.
To optimize the pre- and post-recovery phase, you should prepare for your treatment with a good pre-treatment skin care regimen. You may camouflage the resulting redness with make-up, beginning around three to five days following treatment. It is important that you wear a broad-spectrum sunblock for at least six weeks after treatment. Enjoy the summer weather with fresh, smooth skin!

BOTOX® Cosmetic is most commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles. These injections can diminish early frown and laugh lines, and create a smoother, more relaxed-looking forehead. Dramatic visible results usually last for months, and may delay the need for more comprehensive surgery.
-
If restoring volume to your face is needed, Dr. Vanek may recommend dermal fillers like Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm™. Injections can reduce smile lines, elevate down-turning corners of the mouth, lessen vertical lip lines, add definition to lips, enhance cheeks, plump away forehead lines, and smooth acne scars and creases between the eyebrows.

Diolite 532 is an effective tool in the treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions. A vascular lesion is formed by abnormally large or numerous blood vessels located directly under the surface of the skin. These vessels may be visible through the skin or result in a red appearance of the skin. A pigmented lesion occurs when an abundance of melanocytes (dark pigmentation) are found in the skin. When dark pigment multiplies, it forms freckles, brown age spots, and moles.
Diolite 532 treats the following conditions:
- Facial Telangiectasia: spider veins caused by a dilation of capillary vessels or arterioles
- Cherry Angiomas: slightly raised, red lesions
- Spider Angiomas: slightly raised, red spider-like lesions
- Rosacea: red facial lesions around the nose and cheeks causing a sunburn look
- Lentigines: flat, brown spots on the skin that are present with frequent sun exposure
- Keratoses: slightly elevated pigmented spots often found on the back and hands
- Freckles: brownish spots on the skin, common on people with fair skin
- Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra: small, black marks seen primarily on people of Asian or African descent
Diolite 532 generates an intense beam of light that directs energy to a specific site through a small handpiece. The laser light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (bright red blood cells carrying oxygen) and melanin/pigment (black or brown pigment found in the skin) causing decomposition or destruction by heat of unwanted cells, while leaving healthy cells intact.
The treatment offers minimal to no discoloration, swelling, or complications, and is typically performed without anesthesia or pain. Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation during the treatment, followed by some redness which usually goes away in two to four hours. Some swelling may also be experienced and may last one to two days. Unlike old technologies, DioLite 532 treatment will not cause any purple skin discoloration or bruised appearance to the treated skin.
Final treatment results should be evident within 10-14 days after treatment for vascular lesions, and within two to three weeks after treatment for pigmented lesion. In the meantime, normal daily activities can be resumed with only a slight redness evident at the treatment area.

Sclerotherapy is a procedure that treats small, thin veins that are noticeable on the surface of the skin. These veins, known as spider veins, can be caused by pregnancy, weight gain, aging, prolonged continuous sitting or standing, genetics, hormones, and the use of certain medications.

Torn earlobes are one of the most common problems affecting people with pierced ears. Ear piercing holes may simply become too large over time or the hole may tear resulting in a full or partial split in the ear lobe. Dr. Vanek performs simple ear lobe repair plastic surgery on-site at his office. The simple surgery usually takes 30 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia.
Depending on the deformity, reconstruction can take different forms. In all methods, the skin lining the slot is removed creating a raw edge to rebuild. When tissue has been lost, however, the procedure is more complicated, and reconstruction involves creating normal proportions around a somewhat small ear.
Sutures are removed one to two weeks after the procedure and Dr. Vanek can re-pierce your ears about one month later.
