PATIENT DETAILS:
This patient came to our office at the Mentor Medical Campus for a consultation with Dr. Paul Vanek. She is interested in a blepharoplasty (upper lid). To correct this common problem, many people elect to have Dr. Vanek perform blepharoplasty on their eye lids.
This procedure is performed by first making incisions that follow the natural crease of your upper eyelids. The plastic surgeon will then separate the skin from the fatty tissue beneath and remove some of the fat and excess skin. Finally, using very fine sutures, the doctor will close the incisions.Scarring from this procedure is usually very light and thin, and since the incisions are made in the natural crease of your eyelids, scars are rarely visible. Following the procedure, the plastic surgeon will lubricate and bandage your eyes. Most of the time people can read and watch TV in just one or two days.
